American-built outdoor saunas · designed in the Southeast
The Southeast Sauna 6x8

Not a kit. A proper sauna.

That other sauna
you're looking at is designed entirely wrong.

Many kit saunas leave out the fundamentals Finnish sauna builders have understood for generations. The result is a room that takes longer to heat, uses more energy, and feels worse once you get inside.

Most kit saunas get the two things that matter most wrong — benches too low, ventilation as an afterthought. The 6x8 is prebuilt in our Southeast shop around proper Finnish bench heights and continuous fresh air, then delivered substantially assembled. No weekend build. No cold feet. No stale air.

Finnish / Scandinavian principles

The quality of
the heat changes everything.

It's the difference between heat that sits on you and heat that surrounds you.

Rooted in Finnish sauna tradition and Scandinavian restraint, a good sauna surrounds you with soft, even convective heat. It carries fresh air through the room and holds temperature inside an insulated envelope. The result is a session that feels composed, comfortable, and worth coming back to.

Heat rises, airflow needs a route, and people need fresh air. The Southeast 6x8 is designed around those physical realities from the first drawing.

Inside the room

A room made
to be used.

The interior is where the principles become tangible: generous benches, warm wood, room for the air to move, and a clear relationship between the bather and the heater.

The difference is inside

The decisions
that shape the session.

Insulation, stratification, ventilation, and heater placement work together. Leave one out and the whole room suffers.

01 / bench height

Your feet belong in the heat.

Finnish builders follow a simple rule: feet above the stones. The sitting bench runs a full 6.5 feet wide, so there's real room to stretch out. Your whole body stays inside the heat envelope instead of dangling in the cold layer near the floor. Most kits set benches low to fit a smaller box — which is why kit saunas feel harsh on your face and cold on your feet at the same time. That's stratification, and it's the first thing we designed out.

02 / ventilation

Fresh air, first minute to last.

Four to six people breathing in a small hot room burn through the good air fast. Most kits answer with a passive vent hole — or nothing at all — and the CO2 climbs until the room feels heavy and headachy in a way people blame on the heat. It isn't the heat; it's the air. The 6x8 pulls fresh air in low near the heater, feeds the convective loop, and continuously exhausts used air mechanically from below the lower bench. The air stays as fresh at minute twenty as it was at minute one. A 100 CFM fan drives the continuous mechanical exhaust.

No kit. No weekend project.

Prebuilt in our shop. Not assembled in your backyard.

A kit ships you a puzzle: hundreds of boards, a 40-page manual, and a weekend you'll never get back — with benches and vents designed to fit the shipping box, not the bather. We build the 6x8 in our controlled shop in the Southeast the same way we'd build it for ourselves: cypress interior, proper bench geometry, ventilation engineered in from the first cut. It arrives substantially or completely assembled. You handle the pad and the electrician; we handle everything else.

Built around
balanced heat.

Scandinavian principles, interpreted and built in the Southeast for the way American homeowners actually live outdoors.

Insulation
Fully insulated walls and ceiling keep temperature in the room and help the sauna perform consistently as outdoor conditions change.
Because it is properly insulated, the average American could expect $4,000–$6,000 in savings over the lifetime of the sauna.
Stratification
Taller interior geometry and bench placement support a more even convective heat field around the bather.
Air quality
Fresh air reaches bathers first. Mechanical exhaust below the lower bench removes used air and helps manage CO₂.
Included heater
Harvia Spirit 9 kW electric sauna heater with WiFi control package, selected as part of the room design and included in the price.

Read the room

Soft heat.
Fresh air. Clear path.

Soft convective heat rises from the stones and settles through the room. Fresh air reaches the bathers, then mechanical exhaust below the lower bench moves used air out.

Cross-section / not to scale

Designed for the
whole air-and-heat system.

Behind the wood, insulation keeps the room stable while the intake and mechanical exhaust protect air quality and the heater delivers gentle convective heat.

Before you buy the wrong room

A better room
starts with better priorities.

What others get wrong
What Finnish-inspired design gets right
Low benches sized to fit the box: hot head, cold feet
High benches, feet above the stones — your whole body in the heat
A passive vent, or none — CO2 builds until the room feels heavy
Fresh-air intake low near the heater + continuous mechanical exhaust below the lower bench
Flat-pack assembly: your weekend, their 40-page manual
Prebuilt in our Southeast shop, delivered substantially assembled
Uninsulated shell: slow heat-up, high energy bills
Fully insulated walls and ceiling
A heater picked from a catalog
Harvia Spirit 9 kW + WiFi, matched to the room as part of the design
From interest to backyard

Three steps.
A clear plan.

Once your site is ready, the path from deposit to sauna is straightforward.

01

Confirm site readiness

We need an 8x6 pad of pavers, a concrete pad, or a solid gravel area where the sauna can be placed, 240V electrical available at the site, and a clear path to deliver the pre-assembled sauna.

03

Confirm delivery and get ready

Confirm your delivery date, then get ready to use your sauna.
